Axiomtek announced the availability of two PICMG 1.3 (SHB Express™) backplanes, the FAB1116 and FAB118, which are designed to meet all requirements defined by the PICMG 1.3 standard and support a variety of PCIe and PCI cards, offering system developers high performance, high bandwidth and rich capability baseboards for I/O intensive systems. The space-saving backplanes were developed for image processing, gaming and infotainment applications. The slot configurations and other specifications for the FAB116 and FAB118 are as follows:
FAB116: 8-slot ATX-supported PICMG 1.3 Bus Passive Backplane
The FAB116 features a PICMG 1.3 CPU card slot, one PCIe x16 slot, three PCIe x4 slots, three PCI, and built-in a 24-pin ATX power connector and 8-pin connector for the thermal detected board. Two high-speed USB 2.0 ports are featured. The FAB116 is compatible with Axiomtek’s AX60551 and AX60552 chassis.
FAB118: 13-slot ATX-supported PICMG 1.3 Bus Passive Backplane
The FAB118 offers one PCIe x16 slot, five PCIe x4 slots and six 32bit/33MHz PCI slots as well as the PICMG 1.3 slot for the SHB (system host board). The onboard 24-pin ATX power connector and 8-pin connector for the thermal detected board are featured. Furthermore, the backplane supports two high-speed USB 2.0 ports. The FAB118 is designed for the 14-slot industrial chassis, such as Axiomtek’s AX61460, AX6145, AX61400, AX6156E/LE/LLE, and AX61491.
“Axiomtek’s FAB116 and FAB118 PICMG 1.3 backplanes offer a cost-efficient solution for applications with extreme bandwidth requirements. They are a perfect fit for Axiomtek's PICMG 1.3 full-size CPU cards. And, we offer various industrial housing enclosures and have the capability to assist with any customer's industrial integration needs,” said Eric Chiang, Product Manager of Product & Marketing Division at Axiomtek
